Ok so my pitch was not chosen :(
not to worry too much i will be working on 'chance meeting' (working title).
i liked the idea of working on this film because of its ambitious nature. Bringing together a number of styles and techniques to try and create a finished product that all seamlessly fits together.
this will be a hard task, but i am really looking forward to working on it.
We plan on compositing 3d characters into a realtime scene, creating a new skyline so not to be another film set in london, and using particles and dynamics to create swarms of butterflies flying around our characters.
wheres the story? wheres the script?...here
'Chance Meeting'
Live action with animated characters and props.
Scene:- A beautiful, colourful park, quiet. Greenwich hill would be perfect.
Title/intro
A shadow of a leaf fades over the titles, eventually the camera following the leaf. Until the camera stops and the leaf falls perfectly on to a park bench. (Quite like the feather in ‘Forest Gump’).
Moments after the leaf lands, the camera focuses on the shadow of the young girl sat. The camera then rises upwards to the girls eye level, to reveal the girl sitting with her heads in her hands. The girl is in monotone.
Moments pass, we use this time to show off the environment and concept work.
A curious looking man, wearing an interesting hat approaches timidly and sits next to the young girl.
She ignores him as he begins to ramble on about the spectacular and moving beauty that surrounds them.
“people everyday take life’s beauty for granted. They cant see beauty even when its starring them right in the face.” “the light shimmering on the rooftops. The…
After a few of his words of wisdom and poetic philosophy, he gently taps the young girls knee and as he so does, he lifts his hat and takes from his head a deck of Tarot cards.
As he shuffles the cards he explains their power and states “that if you make a sincere wish when you select a card- it will be fulfilled!” At this point he gives her a sly wink. The girl looks at him in a disserting/acquiring way.
He offers the deck to the young girl and carefully and hesitantly she takes a card from the centre of the pack.
She closes her eyes and screws-up her face as if she desperately wants her wish to come true.
As she opens her eyes to look at the card, the stranger has disappeared and the card she has chosen is revealed as The Empress! She moves the card around to see the girl in the card is actually her. (The card appears to be 3d. Has depth)
Suddenly, but softly she raises her head and gently she begins to smile and the colours of the park begin to flow and swirl in and through her. Transforming her from her monotone self into colour.
She raises her arms in gentle delight and rainbows (prisms of light flicker) and butterflies move sweetly about her.
A single tear runs down her cheek.
The End
so thats the story, the dialogue is not finalised, and im sure there will be tweaks to bits and pieces as we go along and discover flaws or possible improvements.
